PLEASURE TO MEET YA
(Lyrics)
Verse 1
Allow me to introduce myself
I made my entrance vaguely from what I remember
It was St Thomas’ the 14th of December
Gas and air delivery that’s all it took
Lets begin the new chapter of Mum and Dad’s book
2nd girl such a blessing, yeah a bundle of joy
to be honest think my Pops was praying for a boy
South London bound, West Norwood to be exact
Where I would take my first steps and lay my head to relax
Fast forward, popular child was never awkward
Friends in abundance still protective of my fortress
I was top of the class while others moved like a tortoise
Calculated risks but at the same time cautious
This is my reality, at a tender age introduced to Christianity
Balanced out my sanity
Moral guidelines helped me navigate
In this world full of sin and them lost souls that hate
I ain’t no saint, I’m no sinner
Some may even call me a winner
I played the cards that I was dealt
Everything I do I do it well
You can do what you wanna do
You can say what you wanna say
I’m gon’ do me anyway
It’s a pleasure to meet ya
Now onto an age, where I thought my life was just beginning
Wearing high heels and make up, imitating them older women
Boys became a problem, with their game I was smitten
And my mama tried to warn me I was too naïve to listen
It’s funny how my ears opened when he broke my heart
At 15 I thought my world was falling apart
It was dark and my friends turned their back
Little miss popular had no smile left to crack
Imagine that, by the age of 16 SACHA T was back
Abandoned all the haters I was alpha of a new pack
Trust was thin while the haters stacked, but I kept my head up, took no notice of that
I continued with my good grades my straight A’s
Focus not affected by the bad days the bad phase
Perpetrators tried to suffocate me, tried to terminate me, but at 17 I realised it’s the haters
that make me
I ain’t no saint, I’m no sinner
Some may even call me a winner
I played the cards that I was dealt
Everything I do I do it well
You can do what you wanna do
You can say what you wanna say
I’m gon’ do me anyway
It’s a pleasure to meet ya
